Green Terp AI
Live captions, translated subtitles and AI voice in 40+ languages for the sessions and audiences that would otherwise go without. Always labeled as AI, and with an honest answer when your meeting needs human interpreters instead.
Our position
Human interpretation and AI speech translation are not the same thing, and we never sell one as the other. Green Terp was founded by a practicing conference interpreter and we deliver both, so we can recommend whichever one your session actually needs.
Human interpreters
Negotiations, arbitration, diplomacy, medical and legal settings, press Q&A, live debate. Anywhere a misunderstanding has consequences, or people have a right to interpretation.
AI speech translation
Exhibition stages, breakout rooms, internal town halls, recurring working meetings, and audience languages that would otherwise get no support at all. AI opens the room to people who would otherwise get nothing.
Both, together
Keep your interpreters on the language channels and add live captions in the speaker's own language, for non-native listeners and people who are hard of hearing.
Right tool for the room
Eight questions, based on the criteria professional interpreters use. If the answer is human interpreters, we will say so.
Would a misunderstanding have legal, financial, medical or reputational consequences?
Is it interactive, with negotiation, panel debate or rapid back-and-forth?Scripted talks and presentations suit AI far better.
Will speakers rely on humor, irony, emotion or culturally loaded references?
Is the content confidential, commercially sensitive or under NDA?Professional interpreters are bound by strict secrecy.
Is anyone entitled to interpretation, through law, policy or an accessibility commitment?
Will your audience accept occasional machine errors in exchange for access?Even with perfect preparation, AI output is never error-free.
Can we get a clean, direct audio feed and a stable internet connection? From your sound desk or meeting platform, not a microphone listening to the room.
Are all your languages widely used ones, such as English, Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish or French?Quality varies a lot between language pairs.
What you get
On stage, in the audience's hands, online or in a hybrid room: Green Terp AI turns the speaker's voice into live captions, translated subtitles and AI voice, and hands you the transcript afterwards.
On stage screens and personal devices. The simplest way to support non-native listeners and people who are hard of hearing.
Each attendee picks a language on their own phone. Scan a QR code and read along: no app to install, no receiver to hand out.
For audiences who would rather listen. Every AI audio channel is labeled as machine-generated, so no one mistakes it for an interpreter.
Stage screens through GT Captions, online meetings through GT Envoy, even existing tour-guide receivers through GT Audience Solutions.
Keyword lists sharpen recognition of names and jargon. Name-pair and terminology training fixes how they appear in each language, and it improves with every event.
A full transcript after every session, ready for your team, or your own approved AI tools, to draft minutes, highlights and press releases.

Format, audience, languages. We tell you honestly where AI fits and where it doesn't.
02
Send us a short recording of a typical speaker and see the output in your languages before you book. Your names and terms are loaded.
03
Directly from your sound desk or meeting platform, on-site, remote or hybrid.

Why Green Terp AI
The engine matters, but it is only part of the story. What your audience actually experiences depends on the audio going in, the preparation behind it and the people watching it live.
Our founder has interpreted at international conferences for more than 20 years. We know exactly where machines break down, and we design around it.
We take a direct feed from your sound desk or meeting platform. Clean input is the single biggest factor in machine output, so we never ask AI to listen through room noise.
We are not tied to one AI model. We select among leading speech and language engines for each scenario, and switch as the technology improves.
Built in Singapore for real multilingual rooms: English as a source for Southeast Asian languages, regional accents, and English–Chinese names that don't follow Hanyu Pinyin.
The same audio feed drives your interpreters in GT Booth and your AI captions. One platform, one team, one point of accountability, instead of stitching vendors together.
For managed events, a Green Terp technician watches the feed and the output live through GT iTech, and acts the moment something goes wrong.
Buyer's checklist
Including us. The answers tell you far more than a demo in a quiet room.
Will you tell me when I shouldn't use your AI?
Yes. Try the checker above: when a session needs interpreters, we recommend and provide them.
Is every listener told the output is machine-generated?
Always, on every caption view and every AI audio channel.
Where does the audio come from?
A direct feed that we set up with your AV team, never a microphone picking up the room.
Can you control how my names and terms appear in each language, not just recognize them?
Yes, through name-pair and terminology training on top of keyword lists.
Is my content used to train AI models?
No. Not by us, and not by the engine providers we use.
Can the same system carry my human interpreters?
Yes. GT Booth and Green Terp AI run on one platform from one audio feed.
Who is watching while my event is live?
A Green Terp technician, for every managed event.
Our commitments
The interpreting profession has set out clear expectations for automated speech translation: honesty about what it is, transparency about its limits, informed consent and accountability. We agree, and we build them into how we work.
01
AI speech translation, never "interpretation", which is the work of professional interpreters.
02
Labeled on every caption view and audio channel, and announced at the start of each session.
03
Before you book, we tell you how each of your language pairs performs, and where it is weaker.
04
We never present AI as the only option. Where people need or are entitled to interpretation, we say so and provide professional interpreters.
05
We don't use your audio or transcripts to train AI models, and neither do the engine providers we use.
06
We never clone the voice of a speaker or an interpreter without their explicit, informed consent.
07
We put in writing what AI can and cannot guarantee, and who is accountable on the day.
08
We don't market AI as a substitute where interpretation is needed. It extends access; it does not lower the bar.
These commitments reflect the principles set out in the AIIC statement to the AI Action Summit and in similar positions from other professional associations. They are our own undertakings; no association has reviewed or endorsed them.
Interpreters first
Green Terp's technology started in the booth. Alongside Green Terp AI, we build tools that make interpreters' working lives better.
I have spent more than twenty years in the booth. I know what interpreters bring to a room, and I know what machines cannot do. Green Terp AI is for the moments when there was never going to be an interpreter, and it will always tell you when there should be.
AIIC membership is an individual professional credential. AIIC does not endorse commercial products or services.
FAQ
Green Terp AI is an AI speech translation and live captioning service for conferences, meetings and events, from Green Terp Technologies in Singapore. It turns a speaker's voice into live captions, translated subtitles and AI voice that attendees follow on their own phones or on stage screens, always labeled as machine-generated. It was designed by a practicing conference interpreter and runs on the same platform as Green Terp's human interpretation, so organizers can use AI, interpreters or both.
No. We reserve the word interpretation for the work of professional interpreters. Green Terp AI provides AI speech translation: live machine transcription, translation and synthetic voice, always labeled as such.
Simultaneous interpretation is done by trained professional interpreters who understand context, intent, tone and culture, and who are bound by strict confidentiality. AI speech translation is automatic: speech recognition, machine translation and synthetic voice, produced in real time without understanding. AI scales to many languages and audiences at low cost, but it can miss or distort meaning, especially in interactive, nuanced or high-stakes exchanges. Use interpreters where the meaning must be right, and AI where there would otherwise be no language support.
Three steps run continuously. Speech recognition turns the speaker's voice into text, machine translation converts that text into each target language, and, if selected, speech synthesis reads the translation aloud in an AI voice. Quality depends most on the audio going in, which is why we take a direct feed from your sound desk or meeting platform and load your names and terms in advance.
Not where interpretation matters. We use AI where there would otherwise be no language support at all, or alongside interpreters as captions. For high-stakes, interactive or sensitive sessions, we recommend and provide professional interpreters.
No one can guarantee machine output, and we won't pretend to. With a clean audio feed, presentation-style speech and a prepared list of names and terms, audiences get a reliable understanding of the content. It will miss nuance, irony and implied meaning that a professional interpreter would carry, which is why we assess your languages and your format before you book.
More than 40 languages for captions, translated captions and AI voice. Quality varies by language pair, so we check your specific languages in advance and tell you honestly how they perform.
No. Attendees scan a QR code and choose their language in their phone's browser. If you already own tour-guide receivers, we can feed those too.
Yes. Green Terp AI runs alongside the platform you already use, on-site, online or hybrid, with nothing for attendees to install. For meetings on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex or Google Meet, invite GT Envoy by email and it joins with a QR code on screen.
Yes. GT Captions, a Windows app for your production team, shows live subtitles on a transparent layer over PowerPoint, videos or any other application on the main screen, with your sponsor's logo if you wish. It runs on the presentation PC, so no extra caption hardware is needed.
Attendees need nothing but a web browser. For internal corporate meetings, we walk your IT team through how Green Terp AI connects before the event, so there are no surprises on the day.
Live audio is processed by enterprise speech services that do not retain it. Transcripts belong to you: we do not use them to train AI models, and we delete them on request. Interpreter-side AI tools run offline on the interpreter's own device.
Yes, and it is often the best setup: interpreters on the key language channels, live captions in the speaker's language, and AI speech translation for side sessions or audience languages that would otherwise get no support. We will recommend the mix that fits your event.
Per event, by hours and languages, with discounts for series and multi-day events. No subscription is required. You receive a clear, itemized quote with nothing hidden inside an equipment bundle.
