GT Booth Troubleshooting Tips

Windows Users

1. Must have a camera plugged in (or embedded camera) to use GT Booth

2. If only one camera is available, enter GT booth first and select camera to turn it on, before you enter Zoom or any other meeting platforms (with camera turned off). If you choose to enter the meeting platform first, remember to never turn on the camera.

3. When joining a meeting, please select Devices and test diligently every time before “Confirm” to join the meeting.

4. When choosing audio output or microphone on GT Booth, please always select the non-default and non-communication device (a device name with no “default -“ or “communications-“ in front of it).

5. Click on “headset” to try hearing the sound, and click on “record” (then say something”) then click “stop” and click “playback” to hear your microphone recordings.

6. If your headset boom mic has an inline on/off button, please check if it is synchronised with the Zoom Microphone “mute” button. If yes, you can go to “Audio Settings” in Zoom and untick “Sync buttons on headset”.

MacOS Users

  • *** For first-time users of GT Booth,  please go to System Preferences->Security and Privacy->Accessibility, click the lock to make changes, tick GT Booth and Zoom. Then move down to System Preferences->Security and Privacy->Full Disk Access, tick GT Booth and Zoom. After this, the Zoom Sync switch on GT Booth will be activated.

1. When joining a meeting, please select device and test diligently every time before “confirm” to join the meeting.

2. For audio output on GT Booth, please always select “Green Terp Audio Device (virtual)”, and on the other Meeting/Event platform (say Zoom, or Teams). In the mean time, make sure in your “Sound” settings of Mac (top menu bar), “Green Terp Audio Device (virtual)” is chosen, and then click on the GreenTerp logo on the top menu bar to make sure the output device is set to the headphone/earpiece you are wearing. (Double check this when you cannot hear your booth mate!)

3. When choosing microphone on GT Booth, please always select the non-default and non-communication device (a device name with no “default -“ or “communications-“ in front of it). DO NOT select “Green Terp Audio Device” as your microphone.

4. Click on “headset” to try hearing the sound, and click on “record” (then say something”) then click “stop” and click “playback” to hear your microphone recordings.

5. If your headset boom mic has an inline on/off button, please check if it is synchronised with the Zoom Microphone “mute” button. If yes, you can go to “Audio Settings” in Zoom and untick “Sync buttons on headset”.

6.If you hear cracking sound or nothing when “Green Terp Audio Device (virtual)” is chosen, go to “Settings” in GT Booth, scroll down and click on “Reset System Audio”, type your system password on the pop-up window. The GreenTerp logo should disappear from the top menu bar of your Mac and re-appear in a couple of seconds.
